Damika Day began her design journey as a young entrepreneur, establishing. Dakaria Clothing CO in 2005. With a passion for fashion design since the age of 13, in 2006 she enrolled in Lindenwood University Fashion Design Program, graduating in 2013 with a BFA. Day has expanded her wisdom, shared her skills and talents to impact on the lives of youth both as a mentor and instructor, conducting sewing classes at Girls Inc., and as building substitute teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools. She has shown her designs in several fashion shows over the past four years, most recently in Pronto Fashion Show and “PRONTO” Night, the opening night of Missouri Fashion Week 2013.

Day and her spring 2013 collection were featured in a two-page spread in the June/July issue of Delux Magazine. Her designs ranging from casual wear to after five, transitions from work to after-work dinner engagements. Day’s collection “Darling” was designed specifically for the 25, 30 to 45 year old, and those daring 50’s that prefer a flexible wardrobe. Using fabrics and adornments that capture her design techniques, Day is sure to be noticed and will remain active on the up and coming design scene for years to come.

One - One lessons / 2 hour workshops

Join us for fun and fabulous workshops offered bi-weekly at Sew Cute! A great way to see if your child would like to take a longer camp offering creative sewing projects in a kid friendly environment. Our most popular workshop is the Introduction to Sewing Class, a 90 minute class where students sew and decorate a tote bag. We also offer Halloween costume making in October, Glamour doll dress making twice per year, and a Holiday Gift Making workshop in December. Aside from our scheduled workshops we can accommodate large groups such as Girl Scouts, School field trips, and even bring our fashion program to your school.
