Classes

We offer 8-12 week courses and workshops in fashion design, sewing, illustration and creativity. Courses run during the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons for children starting at age 8 through age 14. Our fashion design summer camp runs throughout June and August plus we have a variety of camps, activities and workshops during the school holidays and breaks. At the end of each camp we hold a free fashion show for parents and friends. Our students walk our exclusive light-up runway in their own creations. It’s a fun and fabulous way to see what we’ve been working on.

Fashion Illustration

Basic anatomy and analysis for the idealized fashion female and male figure is emphasized through demonstrations and in-class exercises. Students illustrate color, fashion plates with apparel details, fashion silhouettes and textile using magic marker, pencils and watercolor. Flat sketch and technical drawing skills are taught. Emphasis are placed on developing techniques for proportioned croquis and rendering the figure as well as the method of drawing flats used in fashion design.

Portfolio

This class assists students in creating a resume that effectively displays the student's design and technical strengths, presenting the work in a designer portfolio format. Students are able to mix work produced prior to the class with new projects.

Hand Techniques

Students will get the opportunity to learn several different stitches that will be used throughout the program and carried on into everyday life. For instance, a buttonhole stitch can be used to replace a button. Some of the other stitches include basting, blind (hem) stitching and chain stitching to name a few.

Handbag Design

Accessories are a major part of the fashion industry. This course explores handbag design as an accessory specialization, covering a brief history of the handbag, understanding how to research present trends, and creating individual handbag designs. Using industry standards, students will design and construct a clutch as well as other handbags.
